EventScavengerAdmin.exe: Error while deleting Log-Collection

Apr 26, 2010 at 9:33 AM

Hi, first of all, it is a great tool.

At the moment I collect 25 logs from 10 systems. Two logs are the security logs of the DCs with round about 1,2 million entries.

Now I try to delete the collection for this two security logs and I get the error (after a few seconds of "not responding") "Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding."

Is the any chance to delete the entries using the Query-Editor on the DB-Server?

Greetings

Of course you can do it from a sql query tool if you like but there is another option. On the admin tool's 'set connection' dialogbox there is a setting for 'SQL timeout' which you can increase. Otherwise, you can use the stored proc 'DeleteMachineLog'
